GPU Performance - Preset Scaling - AMD VS Nvidia

Forza Horizon 5 PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

Preset Scaling - How Scalable is Forza Horizon 5's PC version?

Forza Horizon 5 is an incredibly scalable game on PC, offering gamers enough graphical options and settings to scale from high-end to top-tier gaming PCs. There are even settings beyond Forza Horizon 5's Extreme preset, which are enough to tax GPUs like AMD's RX 6800 XT/6900 XT and Nvidia's RTX 3080 and RTX 3080 Ti.

Moving from Extreme Settings to Ultra Settings and High settings presents tremendous performance gains. For older graphics cards with pre-RDNA and Ampere GPU architecture, even larger performance gains are possible. Playground Games has created Forza Horizon 5 to tax the latest GPUs from AMD and Nvidia, so much so that newer GPUs often outperform their older counterparts, especially at Ultra or Extreme settings.

Impressive benchmarking. Definite competition for Steve from Hardware Unboxed.

I got to admit I didn't read much of the text (just looked at the benchmarks), but this typo caught my eye: "moving from extreme settings too high settings" on page 9.Quote

I think i'd enjoy the game but i have a lot left to do in FH4 and tbh FH5 might as well just be a reskin of FH4 it's so similar it's just in a diifferent place tbh, but the lego content and general fun of the game is good just for me doesn't seem worth getting FH5 maybe by FH10 they might have changed it enough to warrant the buy.Quote

I don't really see the point in sticking to FH4, though I'm somewhat biased since I'm sick of so many events in the old game. Mexican roads seem to have a lot of sweeping medium-high speed corners, which I really love.

And yeah it's an absolutely gargantuan game, of course there's a lot of rehashed models, mechanics and so forth - and I'm not a fan of the 60€ asking price for base edition. But game pass is a cracking deal.Quote

This is the first Horizon game I haven't bought as soon as possible. There's loads of content, but most of it is starting to get aimed at a different target audience to me. The focus on online gameplay, the larger than life, OTT approach to everything, handing out so many cars for free with no sense of working up through the ranks.

It's the only open world racing series in town with decent physics, so I'll likely get it eventually, but I'd really like Solar Crown to come along and do a more grounded and progressive take on it, kinda like Horizon 1 was. I'f they gave me Horizon 1 updated with the new modification system, and map tech I'd be all over it like a rash.Quote
