Mass Effect Andromeda PC Performance Review

At 1080p we can see that everything from the GTX 980 Ti and over can play this game at a steady 60+ FPS during standard gameplay, though performance dips below 60 FPS can be seen during cutscenes.
With player interaction being so limited during cutscenes these performance dips will not have much of a negative impact on gameplay, though these dips are still a huge annoyance on the PC platform.
Sadly the AMD's GPUs that we have tested are unable keep up with their Nvidia counterparts in Mass Effect Andromeda, with the R9 Fury X suffering from some huge performance issues. This GPU can easily keep up with the GTX 980Ti or even the GTX 1070 in a large range of gaming titles, though more modern games are starting to become a struggle for the old Fury X, with other recent games like Styx: Shards of Darkness and Ghost Recon Wildlands (the two most recent games that we have tested) presenting similar issues.
Looking at the GTX 1060 and below we see average framerates go below 60 in this title, though the GTX 1060, RX 480 and R9 Fury are all able to achieve average framerates of over 60FPS using this game's high settings.
Both our GTX 960 and R9 380 have sub-30FPS minimum framerates in our benchmark run, though these framerates see a significant improvement when moving to High or Medium settings or by lowering the game's resolution/resolution scale to 900p.
