Mobile App

ASUS routers can be easily controlled through their mobile app, which is available for Android version 4.1 or later. This app will allow users to control certain functions of the router, from it Game modes and Eco modes to more advanced features bandwidth limiting, firmware updates and sharing WiFi with a guest on your network.

This leaves control of your router within easy reach at all times, giving you a great deal more control that what a traditional router would provide.

Game Boost

If you are a heavy gamer you can use ASUS’ “Game Boost” Function to prioritize your gaming traffic, allowing you to reduce your Ping time, variation and have the best experience that is possible on your internet connection.

What this router can also do is find the optimal way of routing your internet traffic around the world in order to get you data to take the quickest and most efficient route using WTFast, giving you consistently lower ping and minimal packet loss, though this can only be applied to a single device at a time.

WTFast is designed to to work with a wide range of games, from League of Legends, World of Warcraft, Counter Strike and many of other popular online games. This list will grow in the future and the technology can be unlocked so that it can function on all of the devices on your network for a fee. This technology is not owned by ASUS, but it will be updated on the RT-AC88U and RT-AC5300 routers periodically in order to give more game support and features.
