Intel NUC 13 Extreme Review - A BIG Upgrade for Intel NUC

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

For most of this review we will be comparing our Ryzen 9 3950X powered GPU test system with Intel's new i9-13900K powered NUC 13 Extreme system, both of which are powered by the same ASUS RTX 3080 Ti TUF Gaming graphics card.

Below, we can see that in Assassin's Creed Valhalla that Intel's i9-13900K processor can deliver small performance gains over AMD's Ryzen 9 3950X at 1080p, 1440p and 4K, but these gains are relatively small. This isn't a hugely CPU limited game, but there are benefits to having access to a more powerful processor.

Days Gone

In Days Gone we see larger performance gains with our GPU test sequence, especially at 1080p and 1440p. 1st percentile framerates are around 20% higher with Intel's i9-13900K processor at 1080p, and notable gains can be seen even at 4K.
