Nvidia Shield Tablet Android 6.0 performance update

PCMARK

Last but not least we have PCMARK, another benchmark from Futuremark that this time looks at all round device performance rather than pure gaming performance like 3DMARK. This test is the only test where we actually see a where the performance of android 6.0 is slower than Android 5.1, though the performance difference is very minor.

The performance difference here is less than 1% between android 5.1 and 6.0, so the difference in score here could be easily explained by the variance between benchmarking runs rather than Android 6.0 being slower. Not all software is going to react well to an OS change, so it is unsurprising that we have seen at least one of our benchmarks deliver lower scores.

I've never used the shield before. But I'm highly intrigued by it, as it seems like a pretty cool little weapon to have. Definitely going to be reading up on this, and checking it out if possible! Quote

I've got a shield, and if you just want to play games it's the only logical choice, runs emulators and Android games brilliantly, not sure about the whole streaming business though because I've never tried it.

I will say though, just get one of the older models with the B01 battery (The one the wasn't recalled) and not the K1 because the K1 doesn't come with a charger or the stylus which I won't lie is pretty good especially for DS emulation. Also the camera isn't great, but it's to be expected really.Quote
