Adobe patches critical vulnerabilities in Flash

Adobe has issued a new patch which fixed nineteen vulnerabilities in Flash. This update addresses some critical issues which could potentially allow hackers to take control of an affected system. The company advises users to update their software as soon as possible.

Adobe describes the vulnerabilities in a security bulletin on their website, in which the company also states that one of the vulnerabilities (CVE-2015-8651) is already being used by hackers in limited, targeted attacks. This issue is regarded to as an integer overflow vulnerability. 

In some browsers, like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, the update will be installed automatically. In other cases, it will have to be updated manually. To see what steps you might have to take, please refer to Adobe’s security bulletin.

It seems Flash is really on its way out. Earlier this week, Facebook announced that they would stop using Flash for both their ads and video’s in favour of HTML5.
