Fallout 4 creation kit coming in April for PC

Fallout 4’s Creation kit will be coming in April of this year, between the release of Fallout 4’s first and second piece of DLC content, with console mods coming at least a month later on Xbox One and one further month later on PS4.

Below is a quote from Todd Howard, one of the head developers behind Fallout 4, when asked when modding will come to PC and consoles.

Our goal is between the first two DLCs. It’ll go up at that time on PC. In April. All of that stuff will go up on PC. People are beta testing it. There’ll be a lag on consoles. We want to get it up on PC and have it work. It’ll probably be a good month before it hits Xbox One, and another month for PlayStation 4.

Modding has existed on the PC version of Fallout 4 since day 1, but the addition of the Fallout 4 creation kit will allow modders to create more content in a much more user friendly way, including the creation of new quests, story content and perhaps add all new areas into the game.

Modders on the PC version of Fallout 4 have already transformed the game into something that is greatly improved over the initial release of the game, especially when you look into the many gameplay improvement mods and other lore friendly content.
