MSI adds VR optimised USB ports on their next gen gaming motherboards

MSI has announced that they will be adding VR optimised USB ports on their next generation of gaming motherboards, USB ports which are designed specifically for VR to offer minimal latency and a clean, strong signal.

These USB ports will be coming in next generation MSI motherboards, which suggests that this will be part of MSI’s Z270 Gaming lineup as well as their AM4 Zen/Ryzen ready Gaming motherboard lineups.

This new VR Boost technology uses what MSI call a “smart chip”, which in simple terms will allow these USB ports to be controlled independently to reduce latency and prevent other USB accessories from competing with your VR headset for bandwidth.

We should be hearing about this technology and others when MSI officially release their next-generation motherboards, which is expected to be in early January at CES.
