ADATA showcases their upcoming SX8200 M.2 NVMe 1.3 SSD

Demand is growing for high-performance SSDs, with manufacturers from across the world working towards creating some of the fastest storage mediums that consumers can dream of. Today the ultra-high-end SSD market is dominated by Samsung, though that doesn’t mean that others are not vying to take a slice of that pie. 

Intel’s Optane storage is simply too expensive for most users, making traditional NAND SSDs the way to go for most PC builders, making a solution like ADATA’s SZ8200 extremely appealing. The SX8200 offers sequential read/write speeds of 3200MB/s and 1700MB/s respectively, delivering speeds that are well in excess of what any SATA SSD is capable of. Sadly, ADATA has not released any pricing or any other performance characteristics for this SSD, though it is certainly something to look out for at CES. 

In addition to the SX8200, ADATA is looking to enter the U.2 SSD market with the enterprise-grade SR2000SP, offering 8TB of storage capacity and sequential read/write speeds of 3200/2400MB/s.

ADATA have also said that they are working on a new M.2 SSD that fits into an NGSFF (Next-generation small form factor) form factor, which is designed to offer higher capacities than traditional M.2 drives as well as other advanced features.
