Corsair releases their Carbide SPEC-05 Mid-Tower chassis

Corsair’s SPEC series of cases are amongst the company’s most popular, offering users a balance between pricing and performance to provide users with a stylish aesthetic with all of the options that your average PC builder needs.

The latest addition to this lineup is the Carbide SPEC-05, which comes with a stylish full-cover acrylic window, support for plenty of hard drives and support for ATX components.

In the UK this case will ship for £47.99 and offer support for three 3.5/2.5-inch drive bays using a sliding mount and two other separate 2.5-inch drives behind the motherboard tray. The three 3.5/2.5-inch drive bays can be removed from the chassis to offer extra space for fan mounting, or to offer space for a 240mm water cooling radiator or a 240mm AIO liquid cooler like the H100i.

Below is an image which showcases the SPEC-05’s fan and radiator support, with the case supporting up to five fans at stock or six if the user removes the enclosure’s drive bay cage.

Radiator-wise the SPEC-05 can support a 240mm radiator (if the drive cage is removed) or a single 120x140mm radiator. Given the price range of this chassis is likely that many users will invest in affordable air coolers or stick to the capable stock coolers that are offered by AMD’s latest Ryzen 2nd Generation processors.
