GALAX Launches Hall of Fame series M.2 SSD with an Integrated Heat-pipe
With this M.2 SSD, there are no RGB LEDs or other fancy lights. Here, we have a CNC-machined heatsink with an integrated heat pipe, offering a white, silver and copper aesthetic.
Performance-wise, the drive is set to offer sequential read speeds of up to 3,400MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 2,000MB/s, for the 512GB version, or 2,800MB/s for the 1TB and 2TB versions. Each drive is be rated at 400,000 random read IOPS, which is lower than Galax’s PCIe Hall of Fam series, likely due to tuning variations and power consumption considerations.
Galax’s Hall of Fame series M.2 SSDs will use the M.2-2280 form factor and use a PCIe 3.0 4x lane configuration for data transmission, using a Phison PS5012-E12 8-channel controller over the NVMe 1.3 protocol.
Right now, Galax is focusing their Hall of Fame series SSDs on the Chinese market, though they may release these SSDs overseas sometime in the future.
