Cuphead is becoming a real cartoon on Netflix

Cuphead, the run and gun 1930s-style video game, is now coming to Netflix in the form of “The Cuphead Show”, bringing the cartoon-inspired video game to television screens with the game’s iconic animation style.

Netflix calls the new series a “character-driven comedy”, with the show’s production being helmed by Dave Wasson, an Annie award-winning producer who has directed a number of similar projects which includes Disney’s Mickey Mouse, a show which utilises a similar early animation art style to Cuphead.

At this time no teasers or trailers have been released for Netflix’ latest cartoon series, though we can expect animations that deliver a similar look and feel to its video game incarnation and the Fleischer-style cartoons which inspired it.

At this time Netflix has not revealed a release date for The Cuphead Show, though Studio MDHR, who created Cuphead, has stated that the show is now in production.
