Nvidia re-releases Geforce 436.02 driver with a fixed installer

Nvidia’s Geforce 436.02 driver released with a major flaw. It installed Nvidia’s Geforce Experience Software for all users, even those who explicitly told the installer not to. Europe’s GDPR laws require Nvidia to obtain user consent to install Geforce Experience, making this bug a big issue.

Thankfully, Nvidia was quick to respond to this bug report, pulling the driver from download while their driver team patched the issue. Now, Nvidia’s Geforce Gamescom Ready Driver is available to once more, without their installer bug.

Nvidia’s Gamescom Ready 436.02 driver is a big deal, promising up to 23% performance gains in popular titles. These games include Apex Legends, Battlefield V, Forza Horizon 4, Strange Brigade and World War Z. With this driver, Nvidia has also added support for new G-Sync Compatible displays, the ASUS VG27A, ACER CP3271, and ACER XB273K GP.

In addition to this, Nvidia has also added several new features to its drivers, such as a new “Ultra-Low latency mode”, Integer Scaling (Beta) and a sharpening filter within Freestyle.
