Palworld becomes the most popular game on Steam with 1 million players

Palworld becomes the 6th game ever to hit over 1 million concurrent players on Steam

Pocketpair’s Palworld has quickly become one of Steam’s greatest success stories, with the game hitting peak player counts of over 1.2 million. This has made Palworld the most played game on Steam, surpassing Counter-Strike 2, and DOTA 2.

Palworld is a game that mixes survival, exploration, base building, and Pokemon. As a game, Palworld feels like its part Pokemon, part Satisfactory, and part Ark: Survival Evolved. Players can gather materials, build bases and create production lines to create more advanced materials.

If you capture enough Pals, players can put them to work to build, craft, farm, and more. In time, players will be able to use their Pals to automate tasks and move up the game’s tech tree.

When the game was first revealed, Palworld was commonly called “Pokemon with guns”, due to the game’s inclusion of firearms. Players can capture the game’s “Pals” and use them at their home base or during exploration.

Palworld has become the 6th game in Steam’s history to reach a concurrent player count of over 1 million. Other games to achieve this feat include Cyberpunk 2077, Counter-Strike 2, Lost Ark, PUBG: Battlegrounds, and DOTA 2.

So far, Palworld has proven to be a massive hit on Steam. Only time will tell if this early access game will be a short term success, or a long term hit.
