PC system requirements revealed for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered

Here’s what you need to run Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered on PC

Nixxes has revealed the PC system requirements for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, and, as expected, the game requires much higher-end PC hardware than the original. In fact, the Remaster’s minimum system requirements are higher than the original’s recommended hardware configuration.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is coming to PC and PlayStation 5 on October 31st, with the remaster being available for £10 for owners of the original. On PC, this current-generation remaster will require 135GB of SSD storage, 35GB more than the game’s original PC version. Note that the original also didn’t require or recommend SSD storage.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered PC System Requirements

On PC, this new Horizon Remaster will support Windows 10 or newer OS and will support upscaling solutions like Nvidia DLSS 3, Intel XeSS, and AMD FSR 3.1 at launch. The game will also support an unlocked framerate and ultra-widescreen resolutions. Basically, this game will support the same PC features as Horizon: Forbidden West.

For 1080p 60 FPS gameplay at Medium settings, Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3060 and AMD’s Radeon RX 5700 GPUs are recommended. For 1440p high settings at 60 FPS, Nvidia’s RTX 3070 and AMD’s RX 6800 are recommended. Nixxes recommends Nvidia’s RTX 4080 and AMD’s RX 7900 XT for 4K 60 FPS at Very High settings. Note that these system requirements are for native-resolution gameplay, which effectively lowers this game’s system requirements for users of DLSS, FSR, and XeSS.

Based on what we have seen from Nixxes, this isn’t a simple HD glow-up of Horizon Zero Dawn’s original PC version. A lot of the game has been reworked. Even so, it cannot be denied that the original game still has solid visuals. Regardless, it is a worthy upgrade for those who want to replay this PlayStation 4 classic. Ten pounds isn’t much given how much effort has been put into this remaster. That said, £44.99 is a lot for series newcomers, who may have been happier buying the original on sale.
