Red Dead Redemption has finally arrived on PC

It may be 14 years late, but Red Dead Redemption has finally made it to PC

It has been a long wait, but Red Dead Redemption is now available on PC. After 14 years of waiting, PC gamers can now enjoy Rockstar Games’ Western classic on their platform of choice. There is no emulation here; this is just a native PC experience.

With HDR support, modern upscalers, and and framerates of up to 144Hz, Red Dead Redemption now looks and plays best on PC. No console can run the game at over 60 FPS, and on PC the game now supports higher draw distances and other graphical enhancements.

On PC, gamers can enjoy Red Dead’s base game content and the game’s Undead Nightmare expansion. Multiplayer support has been omitted, just like it has been for its recent Switch and PS4 remasters. On PC, this game is now available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Rockstar Store. On Steam, Valve reports that this game will require a “3rd party account”, specifically, a Rockstar Games account. If you have played GTA V, you should already have one.

Unlike its successor, RDR’s PC version has launched on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Rockstar Store simultaneously—there is no early exclusivity to the Rockstar Store! It is unknown whether RDR runs well on Valve’s Steam Deck gaming handheld.
