Borderlands 4 is coming to Steam on day-1

PC Gamers Rejoice – Borderlands 4 will not be an Epic Games Store exclusive at launch

Borderlands 4 has been revealed, and Gearbox has confirmed that the game’s PC version will be coming to Steam and the Epic Games Store on Day 1. The game will be arriving sometime in 2025 and is already available to wishlist on Steam.

Borderlands 3 was a controversial PC release due to its Epic Games Store exclusivity at launch. This forced early players to use Epic Game’s PC launcher, splitting the series between two launchers on PC. Eighteen months after launch, Borderlands 3 was eventually released on Steam.

Gearbox has confirmed that Borderlands 4 does not take place on the planet of Pandora. Like the series prior games, it can be played solo or in co-op, with Gearbox promising “billions of weapons” to choose from. The trailer below suggests that combat may be larger-scale than in prior Borderlands games and showcases a variety of new vehicle types. One of these vehicles looks a lot like a Star Wars Pod Racer, though I doubt that racing will be part of this new game.

So far, Borderlands 4 appears to be a graphically impressive game. This makes sense, given the fact that this is the first current-generation entry in the series. As usual, the series will support 4-player co-op. Note that the game will have players become one of four new vault hunters. So don’t expect to play as one of Borderlands’ existing characters.
