DLSS Swapper reportedly allows FSR 4 to replace FSR 3.1 with a manual DLL swap
PC gamers may soon have a new way to enable FSR 4 support in unsupported games
It appears that DLSS Swapper is becoming the latest tool to enable FSR 3.1 to FSR 4 upgrades when using supported AMD RDNA 4 hardware. This upgrade allows for much higher levels of image quality in games, thanks to increased image clarity and reduced ghosting. While FSR 4 still required supported (RDNA 4) graphics cards to work, this change greatly increases the number of games that can benefit from AMD’s AI upscaling tech.
Following this revelation, Brad Moore, the creator of DLSS Swapper, has “acquired” an AMD RX 9000 series graphics card for testing. This signals that direct FSR 4 integration into Optiscaler may now be in the works. On GitHub, Brad stated that “hopefully I have some news for you by Sunday night.”

With the release of AMD’s FSR 4 SDK 2.0, game developers can now directly integrate FSR 4 into their games. Until now, FSR 4 support was only available in games through AMD’s “FSR Upgrade” driver feature, which used the upgradable aspect of AMD’s older FSR SDK to enable FSR 3 to FSR 4 upgrades. This meant that only FSR 3.1 games that were whitelisted by AMD’s driver team could support FSR 4.
With DLSS Swapper, gamers may soon be able to manually add FSR 4 support to unsupported games by swapping DLLs. This would allow AMD’s AI upscaler to be enjoyed in more games.
