LG plans to unveil Micro RGB TVs at CES 2026
LG is getting ready to unveil new Micro RGB TVs at CES 2026
LG has begun teasing what it plans to showcase at CES 2026. The company has plans to showcase its latest OLED TVs, webOS technology, and home appliances. As part of their big teaser, LG confirmed that it plans to showcase “Micro RGB” LCD TVs at the event, a first for the company.
Micro RGB is an advanced LED backlight technology that takes Mini LED backlighting to the next level. It replaces single colour LEDs with red, green, and blue LEDs, enabling higher levels of energy efficiency. This technology also enables support for a wider colour gamut.
With Micro RGB, LG is upgrading its high-end LCD TV offerings. With Samsung and TCL also investing in RGB LED technology, it makes sense for LG to do the same.
Other LG products recognized by the CES 2026 Innovation Awards include a premium LCD TV with Micro RGB technology
We expect to see LG’s new Micro RGB screens in January at CES 2026. While these screens will likely be overshadowed by LG’s newest OLED screens, it is great to see LG investing in alternative technologies. Note that LG’s OLED TVs have now received CES “Best of Innovation Awards” for four consecutive years.
