Gamers report huge gains with Monster Hunter Wilds PC update
Monster Hunter Wilds newest PC update is a godsend to 8GB GPU users
Monster Hunter Wilds has just received “Title Update 4”, the first of a trio of planned PC optimisation updates for the game. Following the release of this update, PC gamers have reported significant improvements to the game. This includes lowered VRAM usage and shorter shader compilation times.
In the screenshots below from TerraWare PC, we see that this update has significantly reduced VRAM usage. On an RTX 5060 8GB GPU, total VRAM usage has been lowered from 7509 MB to 7057 MB. This is sufficient to prevent VRAM-related performance issues when playing in demanding areas, such as the game’s main town. Previously, gamers needed to use Medium texture settings to avoid these issues.
This change was enough to boost average framerates from 34 FPS to 54 FPS during testing at 1440p Ultra settings with DLSS set to quality mode. Expect lower performance gains when using GPUs with more VRAM.
I saw significant VRAM improvements in Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 4 on my RTX 5060 and Ryzen 3700X setup.

More optimisation updates are coming in 2026
Title Update 4 is the first of three planned optimisation updates for Monster Hunter Wilds’ PC version. Future updates aim to improve the game’s performance on PC further and add new graphical options for players to utilise. Both CPU and GPU optimisations are planned as part of these updates.
Capcom’s two planned PC optimisation updates for Monster Hunter Wilds will be released in January 2026 and February 2026, respectively.
