Here’s what you need to know about Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is getting a full remake on PC and current-gen consoles
Ubisoft has officially unveiled Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, a full remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. The game is due to launch on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on July 9th, with the PC version coming to the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Note that Valve’s Steam Deck handheld can play this game with “handheld presets”.
In Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, the game will feature ray-traced reflections and global illumination. The game will also feature modern rendering pipelines, dynamic weather, enhanced water rendering, and physically based materials. The game looks much better than its original 2013 version, as should be expected from a modern remake.
Enhanced gameplay and features
Resynced adds new Officers to the Jackdaw (Edward Kenway’s Ship) alongside new abilities. Island encounters have been reworked, new missions have been added, and new story scenes have been added. Ship customisation has been overhauled with more upgrade options, alongside new ship customisation options, ship pets, and 10 new sea shanties. The game’s “Kenway’s Fleet” mechanic has also been reworked, allowing players to generate a passive income.
Gameplay changes include new parry mechanics, new takedowns, and the addition of quickfire pistol and rope dart moves. Note that the game also includes a new enemy archetype, “the Demolitionist”. Furthermore, Parkour has also been enhanced. Stealth and naval combat have also been reworked.
PC features and system requirements
Here’s the hardware that PC gamers will need to run Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. The game will run on GPUs as low-end as an AMD RX 5500XT or Nvidia GTX 1660. However, AMD’s RX 6600 XT and Nvidia’s RTX 3060 (or better) are recommended. Note that all levels of this game’s system requirements include some form of upscaling.
Note that for 4K 60 FPS gameplay, an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX or a Nvidia RTX 4090 is recommended. This is with “Quality” upscaling and “extended ray tracing” enabled. Note that this game supports FSR 4, Nvidia DLSS 4.5, and Intel XeSS 3. Additionally, the PC version will include a built-in benchmarking tool and feature an unlocked framerate (for both gameplay and cutscenes). If you use a multi-screen gaming setup, you will be glad to know that this game supports AMD Eyefinity and Nvidia Surround. Note that support for Ultrawide monitors and HDR is also present.
