MSI delivers 5K Gaming with its Mini LED Dual-Mode MPG 271KRAW18 monitor
MSI push ultra-high resolutions and strong gaming with its MPG 271KRAW18 gaming monitor
MSI has unveiled the “world’s first 5K Mini-LED Dual Mode Glossy Gaming Monitor”, the MPG 271KRAW18. This 27-inch monitor delivers both high resolution and high refresh rates, offering 5K at 180Hz and 1440p (2K) at 330Hz. Gamers don’t have to choose between ultra-high resolutions and a high refresh rate. With the MPG 271KRAW18, MSI lets gamers have both.
This new monitor uses a Mini-LED panel with Quantum Dot technology and a Glossy coating. The screen is VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certified and Nvidia G-Sync Compatible. Furthermore, the screen supports DisplayPort 2.1 80 Gbps UHBR20, and ships with a certified cable.
With 180Hz 5K support and 1440p 330Hz support, users of this screen have excellent options for work and play. Gamers can choose ultra-sharp 5K gaming or high-speed 1440p gaming, and productivity users can benefit from 5K’s high pixel count when needed. With its 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space and ΔE≤2 rating, this screen delivers strong colour characteristics for video/photo editing workloads. Not bad for a screen that also delivers excellent gaming credentials.
This new monitor uses a Rapid IPS panel with a 0.5 ms GTG response time, and its glossy coating delivers high contrast and inky blacks. While glossy screens have their downsides, there’s no shortage of glossy screen fans.
On the show floor, MSI showcased this monitor beside a standard LCD monitor. To say the least, the difference between the two is night and day. The mini LED screen has deeper blacks, more colour vibrancy and brighter highlights. If nothing else, it makes it clear that the quality of your screen really matters.
Sadly, MSI has not revealed the release date or MSRP of this 5K Mini LED display. We will update this article if we are told these details at Computex 2026.
