It’s time to duel! The Witcher Online Update 3.0 arrives with Gwent support

The Witcher 3 Online allows players to challenge each other to epic Gwent battles online

The Witcher Online Update 3.0 is here, and it brings one of the mod’s most requested features to The Witcher 3: online Gwent battles. Players can battle each other with their own decks using the cards they have collected during their playthroughs. Players can now meet, request a match, and then do battle!

In The Witcher Online, players can join servers, customise their characters, and play The Witcher 3 alongside friends. Players can relax together with “chill out” features, use emotes, or play The Witcher 3’s missions/quests.

Update 3.0 extends The Witcher 3 Online’s capabilities. Alongside multiplayer Gwent support, this update adds new stability improvements to the mod alongside some new bug fixes.

This update has arrived thanks to the efforts of x4lva, who made this update to The Witcher Online possible.

What The Witcher Online does and doesn’t do

With The Witcher Online, players will be able to complete full playthroughs of The Witcher 3 together. However, it is worth noting that only player locations and animations are synced. While your friends can complete the same battles/encounters at the same time as you, they may not necessarily have the same world state or NPC locations. This means that they will not be able to fight your enemies. You may be fighting together, but you will be battling alone.

Since quests, NPCs, and world states are not synced, it is recommended that players enter cutscenes and complete objectives simultaneously. Additionally, choosing identical dialogue options is also recommended. That said, players are free to play together with unsynced save files without risk of save file corruption or other issues. After all, only player locations and movements are synced with this mod.

Other players cannot help you fight monsters, solve puzzles, or complete objectives. Because of this, you each must try to complete objectives at the same time as each other throughout the storyline.

To use this mod, all gamers need is version 4.04 (the newest version) of The Witcher 3 on GOG, Steam, or the Epic Games Store. This mod is available to download through Nexus Mods.
