Nintendo’s Revolution: An update

Revolution Go shot

It seems we’ve been a little slack on the Revolution recently so here’s a little bit of news on it.

Its apparently going to be called the Nintendo “Go”. This is Japanese for “5”

Basic Specs:

729MHz IBM “Broadway” CPU
243MHz ATI “Hollywood” GPU w/3MB texture buffer
24MBs of “main” 1T-SRAM and 64MBs of “external” 1T-SRAM

There is no HD support and Nintendo have said that they believe that games and consoles should be innovative rather than merely pushing the graphical limits.

There are some images from Scans of a magazine that are claimed to be from the Revolution Here

The revolution does not look to be a total powerhouse of a platform like the Xbox 360 or the PS3

However I am confident that nintendo will make an excellent console that will be literally a “Revolution” in gaming. That controller looks to be great for a variety of games and the console, as ever with nintendo consoles, will be great fun

Price points have been discussed as sub £200 so this is certainly going to be a great contender for a “2nd Console”.

Added: mr_fishbulb in the forums has shown us this article on Gamespot that states that Revolution will be revealed on May 9th 2006
