ASUS’ ROG Strix Go 2.4 Wireless headset promises AI-powered noise cancelling and a 25-hour battery life

With its ROG Strix Go 2.4 Wireless gaming headset, ASUS wanted to create the best portable headset that they could, offering users a 25-hour battery life, support for both Wireless and 3.5mm wired connectivity and support for mobile phones, Nintendo’s Switch handheld console and PCs using a USB-C 2.4GHz RF connection. Don’t worry, ASUS also ships this headset with a USB-C to USB-A adapter.

When it comes to the headset’s microphone, noise cancelling is the aim of the game. Instead of relying on standard noise-cancelling technologies, ASUS has upped the ante with its AI (Artificial Intelligence) noise-cancelling algorithm, which enables clear voice chat in otherwise loud environments. In the video below, ASUS used this headset at EGX 2019 to showcase how well their noise-cancelling technology works.

As a portable headset, ASUS has done what they can to keep the ROG Strix Go lightweight, with the headset weighing in at 290 grams while sporting dual 40mm neodymium drivers and a battery that can last up to 25 hours. Better still, this battery can be charged in as little as 15 minutes.

When it comes to frequency response, ASUS’ ROG Strix Go 2.4 is said to offer ranges of 10-40,000Hz in wired more (3.5mm), 20-20,000Hz in wireless mode. The headset is also said to offer an impedance of 32 Ohms.

ASUS’ ROG Strix Go 2.4 Wireless headset will release in the UK this December with an MSRP price of £159.99.
