ASUS reveals their ROG Ryujin III 360 ARGB Extreme at Gamescom 2024

ASUS upgrades their ROG Ryujin III series of CPU coolers at Gamescom

At Gamescom 2024, we got a glimpse of ASUS’ newly upgraded ROG Ryujin III 360 ARGB Extreme liquid cooler. With this new design, ASUS are offering users boosted cooling performance and other feature upgrades. We reviewed the original Ryujin III 360 ARGB in 2023.

For starters, ASUS has upgraded their new CPU cooler with Asetek’s new Emma Gen8 V2 pump. This new pump delivers higher flow rates and lower impedance, boosting this AIO’s cooling performance. Additionally, this new CPU cooler now features thicker 30mm fans, delivering more static pressure at all noise levels. Additionally, these fans are daisy-chainable, minimising cable management while making installation easier.

ASUS has also upgraded the screen on their new Extreme series coolers, doubling the screen’s refresh rate to 60 Hz while also increasing its resolution from 240p to 480p. Alongside software upgrades, this enables more customisation options for the Ryujin III Extreme, allowing users to display more system information, or smoother custom animations.

Thanks to their new Extreme series upgrades, ASUS’ high-end AIO CPU liquid cooler will both look and perform better than its last-gen counterpart. That’s great news for ASUS. That said, it remains to be seen if Asetek’s new pump design will address the noise issues of its predecessor. Regardless, the last-gen model was a strong performer, making this new version an interesting option for cooling enthusiasts.
