ASUS unveils its stunning Prime AP304 PC case

ASUS took its popular Prime AP202 case and upsized it to ATX – Meet the ASUS Prime AP304

ASUS has officially unveiled its Prime AP304 PC case, an ATX-sized PC case with a stunning panoramic glass window and a “floating” main chamber. This case is effectively an upsized version of ASUS’ popular Prime AP202 PC case, which we reviewed last year.

Like the Prime AP202, the AP304 is available in Black or White and with or without pre-installed ARGB fans. The Prime AP304 features four pre-installed ASUS MR120 fans, which are extra thick (28mm thick) to deliver increased airflow. The case supports up to a 360mm liquid cooler at the top of the chassis, and up to three fans on the bottom of the case’s main chamber for GPU-focused airflow. Note that this case also features a dedicated GPU support. This support can be adjusted to prevent GPU sag on any modern graphics card.

The AP304’s main chamber is designed to look like it is floating above the case’s PSU chamber. This design gives the case strong GPU-focused airflow while offering panoramic glass on the front and side.

No BTF support?

Despite ASUS’ championing of its BTF motherboard back-connect standard, the PRIME AP304 appears to lack support for ASUS BTF motherboards. This is a strange aspect of this case. That said, it is worth remembering that only a minority of ASUS’ motherboards use BTF/back-connect cables.

At the top of the AP304 are various I/O connections. This includes a 20 Gbps USB Type-C port, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, and an audio in/out jack. Behind this case’s motherboard tray is 33mm of space for cable management, and the case supports power supplies up to 200mm long.

All in all, this looks like an impressive case from ASUS. That said, ASUS has not unveiled pricing for this PC case, so we cannot comment on its value proposition.
