ASUS reveals their massive Airflow-focused ROG HYPERION PC case at CES

Beefy graphics cards, huge airflow, and high-end features – ROG’s calling in the HYPERION

The premium PC market has changed, graphics cards have gotten larger and high-end processors have gotten more power hungry. Exploding core counts and higher power limits have made many modern components larger and more challenging to install. This has created a desire for larger PC cases, and for designs that are more airflow-focused to help dissipate the heat produced by modern CPUs and GPUs.

ASUS’ answer to the needs of modern high-end hardware is the ROG HYPERION GR701, a colossal PC chassis that is designed to accommodate graphics cards like Nvidia’s RTX 4090 and even larger components. This chassis support EATX motherboards, up to two 420mm (3x 140mm fan) liquid cooling radiators, and more.

With its X-style airflow pattern, ASUS’ new ROG Hyperion case is designed to offer users greater levels of thermal efficiency than older ROG branded PC cases. This is good news for gamers who install beefy graphics cards like ASUS’ ROG Strix RTX 4090 and high-end CPU platforms. The case’s aluminium alloy handles are designed to handle up to 80 kg or weight, which means that this case can be used with the largest of components and the heaviest of heatsinks and liquid cooling setups. The ROG Hyperion is designed for overkill systems.

The ROG Hyperion supports EATX motherboards that are up to 12-inches wide, and the chassis supports two USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C ports on its front I/O. The case can support graphics cards that are up to 460mm wide, and when vertically mounted graphics cards that are up to 130mm thick are supported.

For cable management, ASUS’ ROG Hyperion GR701 features 34mm of space behind its motherboard tray for cable management, giving users ample room for wiring. The case also features a built-in ARGB lighting controller that can be used with up to eight ARGB devices and six PWM fans.

The Hyperion is so spacious that the case features a drawer that is dedicated to the case’s spare screws, accessories, and a supplied screwdriver, allowing users to quickly and easily install new components or adjust their system to their liking.

ASUS’ ROG Hyperion PC chassis is expected to launch later this year. Sadly, we do not currently know ASUS’ planned pricing for this huge PC chassis. Just don’t expect it to be cheap.
