Noctua confirms “no plans” for white NH-D15 G2 CPU cooler
Noctua has “no plans for white”
Noctua has officially launched its Chromax Black NH-D15 G2 CPU cooler, and one of my first thoughts was this: Wouldn’t it be awesome to see this in white?
I wasn’t the only one to think this, and Noctua has officially responded to a user who asked directly about a Chromax White version of its flagship CPU cooler. Noctua’s response was direct. Noctua have “no plans for white.”
White hardware was on Noctua’s hardware roadmap
Back in 2019, we saw white Chromax fans at Noctua’s CES booth. Since then, white Chromax hardware has been part of Noctua’s official hardware roadmap, at least until 2024. In May 2024, Noctua confirmed that its white fans were “on hold” and that it was “unclear if the project will be revived in the future.”
No plans for white.

Noctua is missing out by not releasing white fans
White hardware is common in today’s PC market. Many GPU manufacturers now produce white graphics cards. White motherboards are also readily available. The PC market’s abundance of white hardware has created demand for high-performance in white. Sadly, Noctua doesn’t appear to be interested in catering to this demand.
If Noctua changes its mind on this, it will appear on the company’s public roadmap. Until then, fans of white PC hardware shouldn’t expect to see white Chromax fans anytime soon. If you want Noctua fans, they will need to be Black or Brown/beige.
