Thermal Paste newcomer Polartherm enters the thermal paste market with X-8 and X-10 compounds
Polartherm hopes to change the thermal paste market with great performance and excellent value for money
Polartherm, a sister company of Thermal Grizzly, has just entered the thermal paste market. The brand aims to deliver high-quality, easy-to-use, and affordable thermal compounds. In other words, they want to deliver better value for money than any other manufacturer.
Today, Polartherm products are now available to order. In the UK, the company’s first stockist is Overclockers UK, where all of their new thermal pastes are available to pre-order.
For now, Polartherm has two products: X-8 and X-10. X-8 is their standard thermal compound for everyday use. It was made for both air-cooled and liquid-cooled CPUs and GPUs and is the company’s most affordable thermal paste. X-10 is the company’s “premium” compound, and by “premium”, we mean £1 more expensive per 10g tube. It features a more advanced compound than X8, with an improved silicon oil-based carrier and higher aluminium and zinc oxide concentrations. This paste is slightly more viscous than X-8, but should deliver enhanced cooling performance.
What separates Polartherm from its peers?
Polartherm defines itself based on the value its products offer. As such, all of its compounds are affordable and available in 2g, 5g, 10g, and 40g packages. These packages are suitable for 3-4, 8-10, 18-20, and 70-80 applications, respectively, when used on AMD Ryzen or Intel Core Ultra CPUs.
If you use a lot of thermal paste, a 40g tube will be the best option for you. If you just need to paste a single system, you will be able to get away with much smaller tube sizes. All packages come with an applicator kit, allowing users to apply their thermal paste using their preferred method.
We first saw Polartherm at Computex 2024, and today, their aims are the same. They want to shake up the thermal paste market with some strong competition and deliver a strong product at an excellent price. Will they dethrone popular thermal paste providers like Arctic? Only time will tell.
