Alleged Intel Core Ultra 9 285K appears on CPU-Z with 5GHz clock speed
Intel has confirmed that their next-generation “Arrow Lake” desktop processors will be launching this year. Now, an alleged Intel Core Ultra 9 285K CPU has appeared on a CPU-Z screenshot. This CPU appears to have a 5GHz clock speed and a TDP of 125W.
Currently, we expect Intel to launch Arrow Lake at their “Intel Innovation” even this September. This will likely place Intel’s Arrow Lake CPU release in October.
With Arrow Lake, Intel will be coming to market with new P-core and E-core architectures. Intel’s Core Ultra 9 285K flagship reportedly features eight Lion Cove P-cores and sixteen Skymont E-cores. This should deliver significant IPC increases over today’s Raptor Lake CPUs.
Strangely, the CPU-Z screenshot below lists this new Core Ultra CPU as a 7nm processor. This is clearly a mistake. Intel is expected to use much more advanced lithography nodes for their Arrow Lake CPUs. The masked areas of the screenshot below also suggest that this CPU will boost to clock speeds beyond 5GHz.

Intel’s new Arrow Lake CPUs will arrive alongside new LGA1851 based Z890 motherboards. These motherboards will support more PCIe 5.0 connectivity than LGA1700 motherboards. Beyond that, these motherboards will support DDR5 memory exclusively.
