AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D marketing slide leaks – Gaming Boost Revealed

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Gaming Performance Detailed – A notable boost for Zen 5

Thanks to Videocardz, we have gotten a glimpse of the gaming and productivity potential of AMD’s new Ryzen 7 9800X3D gaming CPU. Thanks to a leaked marketing slide, the gaming and productivity performance of AMD’s newest X3D CPU has been revealed, highlighting larger generational gains than AMD’s standard Zen 5 processors.

For gaming, AMD lists an 8% performance gain over the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and in productivity workloads, a larger 15% performance boost has been reported. AMD also reports better thermal performance for AMD’s latest X3D CPUs, which comes thanks to AMD’s “next-generation V-Cache” technology. The slide also reveals that AMD’s new Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU will feature 96MB of L3 cache.

This leak also confirms the previously leaked 5.2GHz boost clock speed of AMD’s new X3D processor. This leak also confirms that this CPU will support AMD’s existing AM5 motherboards through BIOS updates.

AMD’s 8% gaming performance gain stat is expected to be an average performance boost across various gaming workloads. As such, we can expect some games to receive much larger and much smaller performance boosts. Regardless, AMD has stated that gamers should expect around 8% performance gains over the 7800X3D. Much larger gains can be expected if users are moving from older AMD CPUs, especially non-X3D CPUs.
