AMD 3000-series Ryzen Mobile APU Specs Leak – Gaming-Grade Notebook APUs!
AMD 2nd Generation Ryzen Mobile APU Specs Leak – Gaming-Grade Notebook APUs!
Thanks to early reports from hwupgrade.it, via @KOMACHI_ENSAKA on Twitter, we now know the specifications of AMD’s first Ryzen 3000 series processors, products which will make up AMD’s new Ryzen mobile lineup.Â
Sadly, AMD’s Ryzen 3000 series mobile chips are neither 7nm or based on the company’s Zen 2 architecture. Even so, the series offers a lot of refinements over its predecessors, moving to AMD’s refined Zen+ core design and into GlobalFoundries’ 12nm process node, allowing AMD to achieve improved power efficiency and deliver increased performance.Â
New to AMD’s mobile APU lineup is their Ryzen 3X50H processors, which ship with higher TDPs and performance levels which are designed to low-cost gaming notebooks, delivering enough performance for portable gaming, with AMD’s Ryzen 7 3750H offering up to 10 Vega compute units and clock speeds of 1.4GHz, high clock speeds for a mobile component.Â
 | Cores/Threads | TDP | Base Clock | Boost Clock | GPU Compute Units (CUs) | GPU Clock | Cache (L2+L3) |
Ryzen 7 3750H | 4/8 | 35W | 2.3GHz | 4.0GHz | 10 | 1.4GHz | 6MB |
Ryzen 7 3700U | 4/8 |
15W |
2.3GHz | 4.0GHz | 10 | 1.4GHz | 6MB |
Ryzen 5 3550H | 4/8 | 35W | 2.1GHz | 3.7GHz | 8 | 1.2GHz | 6MB |
Ryzen 5 3500U | 4/8 | 15W | 2.1GHz | 3.7GHz | 8 | 1.2GHz | 6MB |
Ryzen 3 3300U | 4/4 | 15W | 2.1GHz | 3.5GHz | 6 | 1.2GHz | 6MB |
Ryzen 3 3200U | 2/4 | 15W | 2.6GHz | 3.5GHz | 3 | 1.2GHz | 5MB |
Athlon 300U | 2/4 | 15W | 2.6GHz | 3.3GHz | 3 | 1GHz | 5MB |
With their Ryzen 3000U series, AMD hopes to offer their users more performance than their Intel counterparts while sticking to a 15W TDP, with their Ryzen 5 3500U delivering similar or boosted performance when compared to Intel’s i5-8250U.Â
On the gaming side, AMD’s Ryzen 3000H mobile processors are designed to offer better performance than Intel’s integrated graphics solutions, enabling Fortnite to be played on the go with respectable performance levels, albeit at 720p. Â
In 2019 AMD will start marketing their Ryzen H mobile APUs as gaming-ready solutions, with ASUS’ FX505DY TUF Gaming leading the charge, packing AMD’s H-series APUs as well as an RX 560X dedicated graphics card.Â
Alongside AMD’s new Ryzen APUs comes two new 6W A-series APUs for affordable Chromebooks, which includes the A6-9220C, which offers two cores Radeon R5 graphics and base/boost clock speeds of 1.8GHz and 2.7GHz and the A4-9120C, which offers two cores, base/boost clock speeds of 1.6/2.4GHz and Radeon R4 graphics.Â
With this announcement, AMD has also revealed plans to support all Ryzen mobile processors with their Radeon Software 2019 Edition releases moving forward, which will allow AMD’s notebook drivers to remain up to date with AMD’s latest gaming features and driver optimisations. Â
