AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series Workstation and HEDT processors leak

AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7900WX Workstation and Threadripper 7900X HEDT CPUs leak

AMD is set to launch a new generation of Ryzen Theadripper processors later this year, upgrading their HEDT and workstation CPU lineup with Zen 4 based processors, DDR5 memory, and PCIe 5.0 connectivity. Ryzen 7000 Threadripper is coming, and it looks like it will be releasing in two forms.

According to leaked information from @momomo_us on Twitter, it looks like AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series processors will be released in two forms. Based on today’s leaks, AMD are planning to launch Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7900WX (79x5WX) series for workstation PCs, and Ryzen Threadripper 7900X “79x0X” series processors for high-end desktop (HEDT) systems.

At this time, it is unknown what will difference these new Threadripper CPU lineups, though it is probable that AMD’s HEDT series processors will feature a more limited number of PCIe lanes and DDR5 memory channels than their Workstation-grade equivalents. It is also unknown how many CPU cores AMD will offer to Ryzen 7000 Threadripper customers, though models with up to 96 cores are possible, as that is what AMD are offering with their Zen 4 Threadripper CPU models.

AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series of processors are likely to release sometime later this year. We know this because some cooler manufacturers were showcasing Threadripper 7000 series compatible heatsinks at Computex, heatsinks that are due to release around October.
