ASRock confirms Ryzen 7 9800X3D compatibility with their AM5 motherboards

ASRock reveals AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D ahead of AMD

ASRock confirmed today that all of their AM5 series motherboards will support AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU. That’s right, ASRock has confirmed the existence of AMD’s 9800X3D CPU ahead of AMD.

With the correct BIOS update, AMD AM5 motherboards should support the company’s newest X3D series CPUs. ASRock claims that their 1.2.0.2a BIOS enabled support for Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs. These updates are available through ASRock’s website and can be installed using their BIOS Flashback or Instant Flash features.

AMD has confirmed that new Zen 5 X3D CPUs will launch on November 7th. However, AMD has not officially revealed any specific CPU models. That means that AMD has not officially confirmed the specifications or feature set of their upcoming X3D CPUs. Will they be overclockable? What has changed with their new 3D V-Cache technology? How much will these new CPUs cost? These vital questions remain unanswered, and AMD hasn’t long to tell us before November 7th.

As of today, ASRock has confirmed that they are ready for AMD’s Zen 5 X3D gaming CPUs. Soon, other motherboard manufacturers should follow suit.
