Intel’s planned “Razor Lake-AX” processor can have a “Big Battlemage” sized GPU – leak claims

Intel plans to go HUGE with integrated graphics with its Razor Lake-AX CPUs – Leaker claims

Intel is cooling something BIG with Razor Lake-AX, with the leaker Jaykhin reporting that the processors will feature GPU silicon options with 16 or 32 Xe3P cores. For context, Intel’s Panther Lake CPUs can have up to 12 Xe3 CPU cores. That means that Razor Lake-AX could support an integrated GPU up to 166% larger. Better still, the processor will reportedly feature Intel’s newer Xe3P graphics architecture.

Intel’s Razor Lake series of CPUs is reportedly a successor to Nova Lake. That means it will be a while before these planned CPUs reach the market. After all, Nova Lake hasn’t been released yet. Even so, these early Razor Lake leaks paint an exciting picture.

Note that Intel’s rumoured 32-core GPU is larger than any currently available desktop gaming GPU from Intel. Intel’s ARC B580 features 20 Xe cores. You have to move to Intel’s workstation-oriented ARC Pro B70 GPU to get an Intel graphics chip with 32 Xe cores. Yes, that means that Intel reportedly has an integrated GPU planned that’s as large as “Big Battlemage”. This new GPU will also be two Intel ARC architectures ahead, moving from the ARC Pro B70’s Xe2 architecture, past Xe3, and into Xe3P.

Intel’s Razor Lake-AX processor is intended to compete with single-package processors like Intel’s Apple Silicon and AMD’s Strix Halo. These chips feature large GPUs, powerful CPUs, and AI-focused NPU hardware. With a 32-core Xe3P GPU, Intel’s planned AX chip will have plenty of GPU grunt for gaming and productivity workloads. It should be a great option for high-end laptops and compact desktop PCs.
