MSI’s MEG Z390 GODLIKE Motherboard has been pictured
With Intel’s upcoming Z390 chipset, MSI plans to take their GODLIKE series to new heights, with an image from Zaltak PC Systems showcasing a beefy power phase design, what appears to be three M.2 heatsinks (and hence M.2 slots) and support for an OLED screen, which says “True Gaming” in the image below. Â
On top of that, we see a boatload of other connectivity options, with the motherboard featuring dual USB 3.1 Gen 2 internal headers, two USB 3.0 (3.1 Gen 1) internal headers and what appears to be space for six SATA connections and a U.2 connection. This assumption is based on the shaded area in the lower portion of the image below, due to the size of the connections that are visible.Â
Much like ASUS’ recently leaked Maximux XI Extreme motherboard, the MSI MEG Z390 GODLIKE is an EATX motherboard, which is both taller and wider than standard ATX motherboards.Â
Power-wise, we can see that the MEG Z390 has two 8-pin EPS/CPU power connections, as well as a single 6-pin PCIe power connection above the motherboard’s top PCIe 16x lane. Sadly, this PCIe power input is located in an area that will be difficult to access without some terrible looking cable clutter. That being said, the power offered by this cable will only be useful for heavy overclockers who are using multiple graphics cards, which sits well outside of the power requirements of most use cases.Â
From the image below we can see three PCIe 3.0 16x slots, though it is likely that a fourth PCIe 16x slot is in the shadowed section of the image. With so much PCIe connectivity, MSI must be using several PLX chips to utilise ever once of bandwidth available on Intel’s Z390 platform. MSI is known to add several PCIe add-in-cards into the packaging of their GODLIKE series motherboards, though at this time it is unclear what we can expect with their Z390 iteration. A PCIe to M.2 card perhaps?Â

Several motherboard manufacturers are already hinting at a “Next Generation” motherboard release, with Gigabyte hinting at an October 8th reveal date (link).Â
