Ryzen 7 9800X3D Specs leaked by motherboard maker

Leaked Ryzen 7 9800X3D specs reveal HUGE base clock speed boost

MaxSun (via Videocardz) has revealed the specs of AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 7 9800X3D gaming CPU. The CPU will have a TDP of 120W and a base clock speed of 4.7 GHz.

With a TDP of 120W, the 9800X3D is the same TDP as AMD’s Ryzen 7 7800X3D. However, this TDP is 55W higher than that of AMD’s Ryzen 7 7700X, AMD’s 8-core non-X3D Zen 5 CPU.

Clock speed-wise, the 9800X3D has a base speed that is 900 MHz higher than AMD’s Ryzen 7 9700X. Compared to the 7800X3D, AMD’s last-generation 8-core X3D CPU, AMD’s 9800X3D has a base clock speed that’s 500 MHz faster. Sadly, MaxSun’s listed specifications do not list the boost clock speed of AMD’s new X3D CPU.

Previous leaks suggest that AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D has an all-core boost clock speed of 5.2 GHz in Cinebench. Note that the Ryzen 7  7800X3D has a maximum boost clock of 5 GHz. Currently, the single-core boost clock speed of AMD’s 9800X3D remains unknown. However, it is likely below the 5.5GHz maximum boost speed of AMD’s Ryzen 7 9700X CPU.

AMD is expected to release its Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU before the end of this year. This means that AMD should officially reveal this CPU soon, and we can expect to hear more about AMD’s latest X3D CPUs soon.
