Ryzen 9000X3D benchmark results leak, with impressive results

Leaked Ryzen 9000X3D benchmark results reveal huge generational leap in performance

Newly leaked Cinebench R23 results for AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D CPUs have revealed a significant generational uplift in performance. These benchmark results reveal both single-threaded and multi-threaded performance boosts for AMD’s new Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs. This lines up with existing rumours that AMD’s Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs would feature higher clock speeds than their predecessors.

AMD’s 8-core Ryzen 7 9800X3D reportedly achieves single-core and multi-core results of 2145 and 23315, respectively, in Cinebench R23. Compared to our review data for AMD’s Ryzen 7 7800X3D, AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D is 18.7% and 35% faster single-threaded and multi-threaded workloads, respectively.

For the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, single-threaded and multi-threaded Cinebench R23 scores of 2245 and 42375 have been reported. Compared with our Ryzen 9 7950X3D data, AMD has achieved single-threaded performance gains of 9.5% and 16.3%, respectively.

What should be noted is that AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D achieves single-threaded scores that are slightly below our Ryzen 7 9700X and multi-threaded scores that are higher. This implies that AMD’s new Zen 5 X3D models have slightly lower maximum clock speeds than their non-X3D counterparts but may have higher all-core clock speeds (or a higher stock TDP).

Currently, it’s unknown how AMD’s new X3D CPUs will perform in games. Higher core clock speeds should help enable faster gaming performance than AMD’s Zen 4 X3D CPUs. This means that AMD will benefit from Zen 5’s architectural enhancements and higher clock speeds with their X3D CPU releases. However, it should be noted that we do not know what changes AMD has made to its X3D technology. Does AMD have any surprises in store with Zen 5 X3D?
