Acer confirms Nvidia’s RTX 5090 32GB and RTX 5080 16GB GPUs

Acer’s Predator Orion systems will ship next year with RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 GPU options

Videocardz has uncovered some data sheets for Acer’s Predator Orion 7000 series system. These Acer datasheets contain details about Nvidia’s upcoming RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 graphics cards. Both GPUs will be shipped with Orion 7000 series systems in 2025.

These datasheets don’t contain detailed specifications for Nvidia’s RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, though they reveal how much VRAM each GPU possesses. Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5090 will feature 32GB of GDDR7 VRAM, while the RTX 5080 will have 16GB of VRAM. This lines up with previously leaked specifications for both GPUs and confirms the huge cap in VRAM capacity between the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090.

Nvidia’s RTX 5080 reportedly features 10752 CUDA cores, a 256-bit memory bus, and 16GB of GDDR7 memory. The GPU is said to feature a 400W TDP, and earlier rumours suggest that it will be 10% faster than an RTX 4090.

With these specifications, Nvidia’s RTX 5080 will consume more power and be much faster than today’s RTX 4080. The RTX 4080 has a TDP of 320 watts and uses a 256-bit memory bus with slower GDDR6 memory.

Moving onto the RTX 5090, it looks like Nvidia’s new flagship is essentially a doubled-up RTX 5080. The GPU features 32GB of GDDR7 memory over a 512-bit memory bus and 21760 CUDA cores. Yes, it doesn’t have exactly two times as many CUs… it has more than that!

Nvidia are due to reveal their RTX 50 series GPUs at CES 2025. Nvidia’s CES keynote will be hosted on January 6th.
