AMD won’t sell MBA (Made by AMD) Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs

AMD is marketing their “reference” RX 9070 XT design as an “artistic render” that is “not available for purchase

AMD has confirmed that they will not be selling an MBA (Made By AMD) Radeon RX 9070/9070 XT. In a new promotional post on their upcoming Radeon RX 9000 series GPU reveal, AMD has called their supposed reference/MBA RX 9070 XT design an “artistic render.” Furthermore, they say that it is “not available for purchase.” This detail was first spotted by Tom’s Hardware.

While AMD has not outright said there will be no MBA RX 9000 series GPUs, we can assume this is the case. After all, if AMD had a sellable MBA RX 9000 series design, why would they show an “artistic render” instead?

AMD’s RX 9070 series GPUs will likely be available exclusively through AMD’s AIB partners. Since AMD doesn’t want to show preference to any specific brand or model, they are instead marketing an artist’s impression of an AMD RX 9070 XT.

Honestly, I quite like this MBA design for AMD’s RX 9070 series. I’m almost sad that this version of AMD’s RX 9070 XT will never come to market.

AMD’s due to reveal their Radeon RX 9070 series on February 28th. There, AMD will dive deep into their new RDNA 4 graphics architecture. Let’s hope that AMD has something good to show us, as the GPU market is in dire need of a shake up.
