ASUS reveals the clock speeds of their Radeon RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX TUF Gaming GPUs Â
ASUS has now revealed more information about their upcoming Radeon RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX TUF Gaming graphics cards, confirming the clock speeds of their planned OC models, and size of their GPU;s heatsink.Â
For their RX 7900 XT/XTX TUF Gaming Graphics cards, ASUS are offering users three 8-pin power connectors instead of the two 8-pins that AMD’s reference design features. This change should give ASUS’ TUF Gaming models access to more power for overclocking, and their graphics card’s huge 3.63-slot heatsinks should be able to handle a large thermal load. ASUS has stated that their RX 7900 series TUF Gaming GPUs are 352.9 x 158.2 x 72.6 mm, which is much larger than AMD’s reference design.Â
ASUS’ RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XXTX TUF Gaming GPUs feature default clock speeds out of the box and enhanced “OC mode” clock speeds that can be unlocked using ASUS’ GPU Tweak software. We have included both of these clock speeds in the table below. With OC mode enabled, the Game Clock of AMD’s RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX TUF Gaming models are 175MHz and 155MHz higher than AMD’s reference models respectively. These clock speed increases represent increases of 8.7% and 6.7% respectively.

In time, we expect ASUS to reveal ROG Strix RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX graphics card that will offer gamers higher factory overclocks than these TUF Gaming models. At this time, we can only guess at the performance gains of ASUS’ planned ROG Strix models, though factory overclocks of 10% or higher seem likely. Â
