ASUS' White Knight - Meet the Radeon RX 7800 XT TUF Gaming White

ASUS’ Radeon RX 7800 XT TUF Gaming White has been revealed

AMD is taking the fight to Nvidia with the reveal of their Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics card and their showcase of FidelityFX Super Resolution 3. Now we are starting to see new Navi 32 GPU designs from AMD’s hardware partners, and AMD’s RX 7800 XT TUF Gaming White has caught our attention.

With a triple-fan heatsink design and bright white colour scheme, ASUS’ TUF Gaming RX 7800 XT is an appealing graphics card. Currently, we do not know how much this specific model will cost, or how it will perform when compared with AMD’s reference RX 7800 XT. That said, we do expect strong thermals thanks to ASUS’ TUF Gaming heatsink, which is larger than AMD’s reference model heatsink and features three fans instead of two.

Like all Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics card, this white model from ASUS will feature 60 compute units and 16GB of GDDR6 memory. This graphics card is designed to target Nvidia’s RTX 4070, with AMD claiming higher performance levels in most games and additional VRAM to help power through the latest games.

AMD’s Radeon RX 7800 XT has an MSRP of $499, which is $100 less than Nvidia’s RTX 4070 MSRP. With this in mind, we expect most Radeon RX 7800 XT GPUs to cost less than its RTX 4070 counterpart, so expect this GPU to cost less than an ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 4070.

With their RX 7800 XT, AMD plans to offer more VRAM and performance than Nvidia can deliver for $499. This is the same MSRP as Nvidia’s RTX 4060 Ti 16GB, a graphics card that most analyst have already considered a poor value GPU option.

With the launch of a white TUF Gaming RX 7800 XT, it is clear that ASUS are talking AMD’s latest RDNA 3 product launch very seriously. It is not often that we see specialised Radeon graphics cards from ASUS, as normally we only see ASUS’ standard heatsink designs and colour schemes.

AMD’s Radeon RX 7800 XT is launching on September 6th alongside AMD’s RX 7700 XT. ASUS’ TUF Gaming White Edition model is expected to be available on day-1 at retailers, though we expect stock of this graphics cards to be limited.
