Corsair has acquired Elgato Gaming

Corsair has confirmed that they have acquired Elgato Gaming for an undisclosed amount, bringing the company’s streaming and content creation tools under the Corsair banner. 

Elgato Gaming is most famous for their capture cards and streaming software/accessories, acting as the world’s premier brand for Twitch streamers across the world. 

Corsair currently manufacturers OC cases, power supplies, accessories and complete systems, marketing their wares to gamers, PC enthusiasts and eSports users, with Elgato acting as a major strategic move to embed themselves further into the gaming market. 

Elgato Gaming, a Munich-based company, is now owned by Corsair, though Elgato’s home business, Elgato Eve, will remain independent and work under a new name, Eve Systems.

    FREMONT, CA — June 27th, 2018 — CORSAIR, a world leader in providing high-performance PC peripherals and components for gamers, enthusiasts and eSports athletes, today is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement to acquire Munich-based Elgato Gaming.

Elgato’s connected home business, Elgato Eve, will continue as an independent, separate entity under the name Eve Systems.

Drake Star Partners, a global investment banking firm serving the technology, media and communications sectors, acted as exclusive financial advisor to Elgato Systems on this transaction and Bird & Bird served as legal advisor.

Jones Day served as legal advisor to CORSAIR.
