Enjoy the Highest Quality Digital and Analog TV on a PCDual TV Card

Previously, users looking to watch and record both digital and analog TV channels simultaneously would have to make do with their CPU cycles being taken up by the process. Asus have released the My Cinema-EHD3-100/NQA/FM/AV/MCE RC Dual Hybrid TV Card (yes, I know it’s a mouthful) which they claim delivers the best video quality and boosts multitasking as the work is no longer done on the CPU, but on the embedded MPEG2 hardware encoder. The card is supported by both Windows Vista and XP, and will no doubt be supported by Windows 7 when the Operating System makes it to retail, so those looking to to turn their computer into a home theater machine can do so with relative ease.

Using a PCI Express x1 interface the card is capable of transmission speeds of up to 500MB/s, close to 3 times
faster than the 133MB/s of a conventional PCI bus. This ensures that the card has plenty of bandwidth to maintain a silky smooth picture regardless of the broadcast content. Also equipped with noise reduction technology the card is able to provide clearer images and superb video quality compared with similar cards on the market.

Included with the card is a Microsoft certified Media Center remote control, allowing users to switch channels and record programs from the comfort of their sofa. With Asus GadgeTV for Windows Vista users can now keep an eye on what’s going on on TV whilst continuing with their computer based activities thanks to to small window added to the Windows Vista sidebar. Users are able to watch, record and take snapshots of live TV directly from the sidebar and should they prefer to view the TV in full, simply dragging the widget onto the desktop will enlarge the video.
