Faster, clearer, brighter – LG takes its OLED tech to the next level with its UltraGear 27GX790B
LG promises incredible clarity with its new UltraGear OLED 27GX7900B gaming monitor
LG plans to showcase its new UltraGear OLED 27GX7900B gaming monitor at CES 2026, and it takes the company’s OLED gaming technology to the next level.
This new 27-inch OLED screen uses LG’s “Tandem OLED” technology, delivering higher brightness levels, power savings, and more vivid colours. Furthermore, this screen supports refresh rates up to 720Hz via Dual Mode. At 1440p (QHD), the screen supports refresh rates up to 540Hz; at 720p (HD), it supports 720Hz. This makes the 27GX7900B the fastest monitor in the LG UltraGear lineup.
Another feature that makes this new 27-inch OLED monitor special is its 0.02ms grey-to-grey response times. This is 0.01ms better than LG’s prior OLED displays. This not only delivers faster response times but also reduces blur and ghosting, further enhancing the motion clarity of OLED monitors. This new OLED screen is VESA ClearMR 21000 certified, the highest motion clarity certification available.
With its increased brightness via Tandem OLED, this screen achieves DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, delivering deep blacks, rich contrast, and excellent colour reproduction. The screen is also G-Sync Compatible and FreeSync Premium Pro certified.
Thanks to its increased brightness, higher refresh rate, and faster response times, LG’s new UltraGear OLED 27GX7900B has taken the company’s OLED technology to the next level in all aspects. That said, this screen doesn’t appear to be using LG’s new RGB Stripe technology.
