Nvidia’s RTX 5090 won’t cost much more than the RTX 4090 – Leaker Claims

Leaker claims Nvidia’s RTX 5090 won’t cost “significantly more” than Nvidia’s RTX 4090

How much will Nvidia’s RTX 5090 cost? This is a hot topic of discussion among PC hardware leakers. Recently, a leaker suggested pricing as high as $1999-2499 for Nvidia’s RTX 5090, which we called insane in our article on the topic. Now, Kopite7kimi, another hardware leaker, has claimed that these leaked prices are “totally fake”, stating that they “don’t believe there will be a significant price increase for RTX 5090”.

Nvidia’s RTX 4090 has an MSRP of $1599 and has maintained that pricing level since launch. As such, we do not expect lower pricing for Nvidia’s next-generation flagship. After all, Nvidia’s RTX 5090 is unlikely to have a direct competitor from AMD or Intel. That pretty much gives Nvidia free rein concerning pricing.

How much will the RTX 5090 cost?

Based on kopite7kimi’s comments, Nvidia’s RTX 5090 will not have a “significant” price increase over its predecessor. That means that the potential MSRP of Nvidia’s RTX 5090 depends entirely on what can be considered a “significant” price increase. A 10% price increase would make the GPU cost around $1760. A 5% price increase would make the GPU cost £1680. Perhaps Nvidia is considering a price tag of $1699 for their reference/Founders Edition models. Obviously, higher-end custom models will cost more, likely raising RTX 5090 prices to over $2000 for high-end models.
