ASUS and G.Skill break DDR5 overclocking records with DDR5-12112 speeds
ASUS and G.Skill have broken the world’s memory speed record using Intel Arrow Lake CPUs
G.Skill, in conjunction with ASUS, has achieved record DDR5 memory speeds with Trident Z5 memory modules, an ROG Maximus Z890 APEX motherboard, and an Intel Ultra 9 285K CPU. Safedisk, a South Korean overclocker, was behind this new world record overclock, achieving DDR5-12112 memory speeds.
This overclock was achieved using LN2 (Liquid Nitrogen) cooling. As such, it cannot be considered “stable,” at least for day-to-day use. With this overclock, Safedisk, ASUS, and G.Skill have pushed the limits of DDR5 memory. That said, it is only a matter of time before such speeds are available for mainstream systems.
Earlier this month, G.Skill released new Trident Z5 CK series CUDIMM DDR5 memory modules with rated speeds of up to DDR5-9600. It wasn’t long ago that these speeds were record-worthy. Now, these speeds are available on off-the-shelf DDR5 modules. Will the same happen for DDR5-12000 speeds?

Today, we have seen the limits of DDR5 pushed ever further. In time, we will see things pushed further. As CPU memory controllers improve and DDR memory technology advances further, it is only a matter of time before we see even faster DDR speed records.
