Bambu Lab launches its Vortek-powered H2C 3D Printer

Bambu Lab unleashes its H2C multi-material 3D printer at Formnext 2025

Following last week’s teaser, Bambu Lab has officially released its new H2C multi-material 3D printer. This new 3D printer uses the same frame as the company’s H2D (review here), but adds support for 7-material 3D printing using “Vortek” technology.

Using their new Vortek Hotend Change System, Bambu Lab are building a 3D printer that can switch between seven colours without any unnecessary purging. This saves precious material, making many colour/material 3D prints make a lot more sense. With its induction heating system, this hotend-changing system can heat a nozzle in 8 seconds. This will make multi-colour printing significantly faster than standard AMS-style filament-changing systems.

Bambu Lab H2C Pricing and Specifications

With its fully heated chamber (up to 65 degrees Celsius) and 350-degree nozzles, the H2C boasts specifications similar to those of the H2D. The primary difference is its build volume and 7-nozzle support. Using its Vortek system, the right nozzle of the H2C can be switched between six different nozzles. Add the left nozzle, and this printer has seven nozzles for multi-material printing.

If all nozzles are the same, users of the H2C can print 7-material prints without unnecessary purging. Note that multi-material 3D prints will require a purge tower for optimal printing results, like with all multi-material 3D printers. Also note that the H2C can have multiple nozzle sizes installed, allowing users to easily switch between nozzle sizes without manual nozzle switching.

The H2C, like the H2D and H2S, has a Laser version which includes either a 10W or 40W laser and a cutting/pen plotting tool. When it comes to build area, the H2C has the same dual-nozzle 3D printing area as the H2D. However, its overall build plate size is smaller. This is because of the space required for the H2C’s Vortek nozzle switching system.

Below are the prices of Bambu Lab’s H2C 3D printer.

  • Bambu Lab H2C AMS Combo (Standard) – £1,999
  • Bambu Lab H2C AMS Combo (Standard) + Ultimate Set – £2,399

H2S and H2D upgrade options

Bambu Lab has confirmed that H2S and H2D owners will be able to upgrade their 3D printers to an H2C. Note that upgrading is a technical process, and upgrading your 3D printer will take a significant amount of time.

Bambu Lab’s “Vortek Upgrade Kit” will become available in January 2026 for the H2D and in Q1 2026 for the H2S. Upgrade instructions are already available through the Bambu Lab Wiki here.
