Bambu Lab teases its first CO2 laser, the R1

Bambu Lab plans to unveil its first dedicated laser on September 22nd

Bambu Lab has confirmed that it plans to unveil its first dedicated Laser product on September 22nd. This new Laser is called the Bambu Lab R1, and Bambu Lab confirmed it is a CO2 laser in its latest teaser.

Note that this isn’t Bambu Lab’s first laser product. The company’s H2-series of 3D printers features a laser add-on. We reviewed Bambu Lab’s H2D Laser 3D printer last year, which includes a diode laser. This laser add-on includes dedicated laser software (Bambu Suite) and laser workflows. In other words, Bambu Lab has already built everything it needs to create a dedicated laser product.

Currently, the size and specifications of Bambu Lab’s R1 laser are unknown. However, we expect the product to follow a similar philosophy to Bambu Lab’s 3D printers. That means minimal fiddling and maximised ease of use. In other words, users should be able to spend less time tinkering and more time lasering. With this product being a CO2 laser, we expect this laser to be a larger-scale product, similar to XTool’s P2/3. If you want to know more about CO2 Lasers, we’ve reviewed XTool’s P2 laser.

Bambu Lab says their new laser will launch on September 22nd. That means that we won’t need to wait long for more information.
